Lisa Baggett attended the University of Georgia graduating cum laude in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in less than three years. She furthered her education at the University of Georgia by attending law school and earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 1993. While attending law school, she clerked for a Western Circuit State Court Judge and after graduation joined a law firm in Athens, Georgia that specialized in bankruptcy. She was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1993 and practiced in Athens, Georgia for 9 years before moving to Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Lisa has significant experience in the area of creditor’s rights and bankruptcy litigation. She earned considerable insight for her creditor clients by representing a Chapter 7 Trustee for over eight years. This background has enabled her to successfully defend and reach favorable settlements in several significant preferential transfer and fraudulent conveyance actions.
With her diverse background, Lisa has also represented clients in mediations, state and superior court litigation, jury and non-jury trials and appellate proceedings. She also has substantial experience representing construction clients in complex construction litigation, lien and bond claims, and commercial transaction including representation of General Contractors, Specialty Trade Contractors, and Suppliers. Her practice includes filing materialman’s liens, bond claims, perfecting liens and post-judgment proceedings.
In addition to her career, Lisa is a mother to a daughter attending the University of Georgia. She has two active Labradors and is primary caretaker for the office dog Cleo.
